ABOUT ME

Chartered Educational Psychologist and SEND Consultant

I am a Chartered Educational Psychologist, experienced educator, and Director of Sharpe Psychology Ltd with almost 30 years' experience in the world of education. I have extensive expertise in psychological assessment, consultation, training, and teaching. After completing my degree in Psychology, I began my career as a primary teacher before qualifying as an Educational Psychologist (EP).  I spent 15 years working as an EP within a large local authority, including 7 years as a Senior EP managing a large locality team of psychologists. Following this, I  moved into the independent sector as Head of Learning Support and Assistant Head (Pastoral) at a prep school, while continuing to run my private EP practice. I hold a Doctorate in Educational Psychology from UCL.  Now working full time in private practice, I support schools, pupils, and families across both local authority and independent sectors. I am an experienced conference speaker, formerly served as SEND Subject Advisor for the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS), and currently sit  on the Independent Schools Council (ISC) Cross-Association SEND Advisory Group.

I am a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC): PYL20030.

I just wanted to get in touch to say thank you for your inspiring session on Friday. The balance of theory and practical application was great to get staff ready for the year ahead. Staff feedback has been very positive and conversations around the topics discussed are continuing today.
