Educational Psychology and SEND Consultancy Services
HOW I CAN SUPPORT
I provide a comprehensive range of Educational Psychology and SEND consultancy services designed to support children, young people, families, and schools. Through a positive, strengths-based approach, I help ensure that every learner is understood, effectively supported, and able to thrive.

Educational Psychology Consultation
This consultation service includes an observation of the child/young person in a lesson, a short 1:1 meeting with the child/young person to elicit their views, a review of existing reports and records and a joint consultation meeting with school staff and parents/carers. I produce a short summary of the meeting which outlines the key points discussed and agreed actions.
The purpose of the consultation meeting is to explore and develop a shared understanding of strengths, concerns and appropriate strategies and intervention support to meet the child/young person’s needs. It is an ideal option as part of an early intervention approach or where there have been other assessments (specialist assessor/speech and language therapist/occupational therapist) which need to be pulled together into a clear profile.
This is not a diagnostic service and whilst further specialist assessment might be sought after the consultation meeting, this is often not necessary. I also offer one-off online consultations with Headteachers, SENCOs, teachers and/or parents/carers to explore and advise on specific issues.
Educational Psychology Assessment
This in-depth assessment service provides a detailed and holistic view of a child/young person’s strengths, challenges and learning profile. The assessment session might include a detailed cognitive assessment and attainment assessments in literacy and numeracy.
I also explore communication skills, attention, executive functions and social/emotional needs. The exact nature of the assessment activities will be discussed prior to the appointment. I produce a detailed report to explain the findings and outline a comprehensive set of recommendations. This assessment can take place in the child/young person’s home or in school and will take between 1-3 hours. There is the option to add on a classroom observation and a home/school consultation meeting. I can also offer play-based assessments and observations for children in preschool/EYFS provision.
Please note that I do not diagnose ADHD or autism as these are medical assessments, but I am able to advise on meeting needs associated with these neurodivergent profiles. I do not carry out assessments for SEND Tribunals.
